MHC I (Major Histocompatibility Complex Class I), beim Menschen auch als HLA bekannt, ist eine Reihe von Zelloberflächenrezeptoren, die auf allen kernhaltigen Zellen des Körpers vorkommen. Sie spielen eine entscheidende Rolle für das adaptive Immunsystem. In vivo kann MHC I an Antigen-Peptidfragmente von intakten Proteinen binden. Der Peptid-MHC-Komplex wird von den antigenspezifischen Rezeptoren der T-Lymphozyten erkannt und mit der Erkennung tragen aktivierte T-Zellen zur Immunantwort bei und helfen bei der Beseitigung der Infektion. MHC I-vermitteltes Peptidom, das hochspezifische T-Zellen-vermittelte Reaktionen ermöglicht, die für die adaptive Immunität von entscheidender Bedeutung sind. Daher ist die Erforschung der engen Beziehung zwischen dem Peptid-MHC-I-Komplex und dem TCR von zunehmender Bedeutung für die Untersuchung der Mechanismen und die Entwicklung von Arzneimitteln.
