Source

Biotinylated Cynomolgus CD6 Protein, Fc,Avitag (CD6-C82F3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA His 18 - Leu 399 (Accession # XP_005577746.1).

Predicted N-terminus: His 18

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a human IgG1 Fc tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag (Avitag™).

The protein has a calculated MW of 69 kDa. The protein migrates as 90-130 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Labeling

Biotinylation of this product is performed using Avitag™ technology. Briefly, the single lysine residue in the Avitag is enzymatically labeled with biotin.

Protein Ratio

Passed as determined by the SABA assay / HABA assay / binding ELISA.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

  • -70°C for 3 months under sterile conditions after reconstitution.

Background

CD6 (Cluster of Differentiation 6) is a transmembrane protein primarily expressed on T-lymphocytes and certain other immune cells. Structurally, it is characterized by three scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains and a binding site for an activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM). Functionally, CD6 is critical for the continuation of T cell activation and exhibits scavenger receptor activity. Aberrant CD6 function is associated with diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. Its paralog is DMBT1.
