Source

Biotinylated Human ALK-7 Protein, Fc,Avitag (AL7-H82F3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Glu 21 - Glu 113 (Accession # Q8NER5-1).

Predicted N-terminus: Glu 21

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a human IgG1 Fc tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag (Avitag™).

The protein has a calculated MW of 38.2 kDa. The protein migrates as 45-60 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Labeling

Biotinylation of this product is performed using Avitag™ technology. Briefly, the single lysine residue in the Avitag is enzymatically labeled with biotin.

Protein Ratio

Passed as determined by the SABA assay / HABA assay / binding ELISA.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>90% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH7.5 with trehalose as protectant.

  • -70°C for 3 months under sterile conditions after reconstitution.

Background

ALK-7, also known as ACVR1C , is a Type I receptor for the TGF-beta family of signaling molecules. Upon ligand binding, it initiates intracellular signaling by phosphorylating cytoplasmic SMAD transcription factors. These activated SMADs then translocate to the nucleus to regulate gene expression, either directly or in complex with other transcription factors.
