TPA1

Source

Human TPA1 (H357V, S532T) Protein, His Tag (TP1-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Ser 36 - Pro 562 (Accession # P00750-1 (H357V, S532T)).

Predicted N-terminus: Ser 36

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 60.9 kDa. The protein migrates as 60-70 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Purity

>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>95% as determined by SEC-HPLC.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 25 mM MES, 0.5 M Arginine, 150 mM NaCl, pH5.5 with trehalose as protectant.

Background

Tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA, encoded by the PLAT gene) is a crucial serine protease secreted by endothelial cells. It plays a central role in the fibrinolytic system by converting plasminogen into active plasmin, which subsequently degrades fibrin clots and restores blood flow. Because of its powerful thrombolytic properties, recombinant t-PA is widely utilized as a frontline emergency treatment for acute ischemic stroke and myocardial infarction. Beyond hemostasis, t-PA is also involved in tissue remodeling and central nervous system signaling.
