Source

Human Prostatic Acid Phosphatase Protein, His Tag (PRE-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Lys 33 - Lys 382 (Accession # P15309-2).

Predicted N-terminus: Lys 33

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 42.5 kDa. The protein migrates as 45-50 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

The protein is designed as a dimer.

Endotoxin

Less than 0.01 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>95% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Supplied as 0.2 μm filtered solution in 100 mM NaAC, pH5.0 with glycerol as protectant.

Background Introduction

Prostatic acid phosphatase also know as acid phosphatase 3 (ACP3), it is a non-specific tyrosine phosphatase that acts as a tumor suppressor of prostate cancer through dephosphorylation of ERBB2 and deactivation of MAPK-mediated signaling. In addition to its tyrosine phosphatase activity has ecto-5'-nucleotidase activity in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons. Generates adenosine from AMP which acts as a pain suppressor.
