Source

Human Kallikrein 4 Protein, His Tag (KL4-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Ser 27 - Ser 254 (Accession # Q9Y5K2).

Predicted N-terminus: Ser 27

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 26.3 kDa. The protein migrates as 29-30 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>90% as determined by SEC-HPLC.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 50 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH7.5 with trehalose as protectant.

Background Introduction

Kallikrein-related peptidase 4 (KLK4) is a secreted serine protease primarily expressed in teeth, prostate, and other tissues. It plays a key role in enamel maturation by degrading enamel matrix proteins. Dysregulation of KLK4 is linked to dental defects, cancer progression, and other pathologies, making it a biomarker and potential therapeutic target.
