Source

Mouse IL-18 R1 Protein, His Tag (IL1-M52H4) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Lys 20 - Gly 326 (Accession # Q61098).

Predicted N-terminus: Lys 20

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 37.2 kDa. The protein migrates as 55-75 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 0.01 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>95% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

Background

Interleukin-18 receptor 1 (IL-18R1), also known as CD218 alpha (CD218a, formerly CDw218a), IL-1 receptor-related protein (IL-1Rrp), and IL-18R alpha, belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor superfamily. IL-18R1 contains three Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains and one TIR domain. It is a receptor for interleukin-18 (IL-18). Binding of IL-18 to IL-18R1 leads to the activation of NF-κB. IL-18R1 does not bind IL-1 alpha (interleukin-1 alpha) or IL-1 beta (interleukin-1 beta).
