gp130 & OSMR

OSM signaling on responsive cells is mediated by binding to two distinct signaling receptor complexes identified as type I and type II OSM receptors. Type II OSM receptor (gp130/OSMRβ) is a heterodimer composed of gp130 and OSM receptor β subunit. The type II receptor has OSM specificity. This receptor triggers the activation of associated Janus kinases (JAKs), leading primarily to the phosphorylation and activation of the Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (STAT3) pathway.
